On the basis of the University of California (San Diego, USA) carried out a study which compared the efficacy and safety of daptomycin therapy vs standard treatment for children with a complicated infections of the skin and soft tissues. Patients in the group of daptomycin (n = 263) was obtained in preparation 1 time per day in / at a dose adjusted according to the age of the child, for 3 days. Patients in the standard treatment group (n = 133) received either clindamycin (50.4%) or vancomycin (42.1%). The clinical success of therapy was registered at 88.3% of patients in the daptomycin group and 86.3% in the standard treatment group
